A former Eagles rushing leader and legendary running back, Brian Westbrook was a guest on the Inside The Birds Podcast with Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan, when the discussion about Sanders came up.
Westbrook pulled no punches when describing Sanders as a player who could be forced to carry the Eagles this season.
“He understands that Carson Wentz has been injured in the postseason and he has to understand that the burden of carrying this team could land on his shoulders because of that injury history.”
Sanders led the Eagles in rushing last season amassing 818 yards on 179 carries. He was most dynamic in the passing game, where Sanders accounted for 509 yards on 50 catches, tallying almost 1400 yards of total offense as a rookie.
