Eagles lead the NFL in dropped passes despite no player having more than 2

The Philadelphia Eagles have produced some interesting stats on the season, but none more revealing that shows just how crucial the drop pass epidemic has been for this team. According to stats from Pro Football Focus, The Eagles lead the NFL in dropped passes despite not having a single player on the roster with more than 2 drops to their name.

EAGLES ARE SPREADING THE DROPS AROUND
No quarterback has had to deal with more drops than Carson Wentz this season. But while the Eagles’ receiving corps has 15 of them, no player on the team has more than two. In Week 5, all three drops came from different players. And in Week 2, some may have been led to believe that Nelson Agholor’s two drops would be a sign of things to come — but he hasn’t mishandled a pass since. It’s an odd but worrying trend for the Eagles.

The stats are staggering and it makes Carson Wentz’s first quarter of the season even more impressive. Wentz landed on PFF’s All-Pro team through the first four weeks and he’s currently the highest-graded passer in football despite the drops and injuries to key contributors.
