Eagles LB Nigel Bradham says he expects to be fined for skipping final preseason game with illness

The Philadelphia Eagles have quietly gone about the business of preparing for the Washington Redskins without allowing Nigel Bradham’s absence from the final preseason game to become a distraction. According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Bradham and Eagles brass seem to be at odds about his decision to not notify the team of an illness that caused the middle linebacker to be a no show at the final preseason game against the New York Jets.

According to McLane, when the Eagles’ departed for MetLife Field last Wednesday, Nigel Bradham wasn’t on the bus and no team officials had any idea of his whereabouts. Bradham was considered AWOL, while his explanation was that he was sick and unable to travel.

“I need to “communicate better, obviously,” Bradham said. “But I wasn’t feeling well, so I wasn’t really concerned about my phone and trying to reach out. That’s all it was.”

On Thursday, Bradham told Tim McManus of ESPN.com, that he expected to fined for his absence, though it hadn’t been handed down as of Thursday afternoon. Bradham also said that he won’t be suspended for any of Sunday’s season opener against the Redskins and he’ll “play the whole game”.
