The 2019 NFL Draft is just hours away and both Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have made their final mock picks for the first round. The final mock draft is based off of what both men are hearing, with McShay and Kiper both mocking impact players to the Eagles at No. 25.
For Kiper, the draft guru went with Oklahoma’s Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown at No. 25, and it follows the sentiment of several other mocks around the league who believe the Eagles are high on the Sooners speed burner.
25. Philadelphia Eagles
Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma | HighlightsIf you’re keeping count, Brown would be the first wide receiver picked. I can see a few 75-yard catch-and-runs in his future with Carson Wentz throwing him the ball. He’d be a teammate of his closest pro comp, Desean Jackson.
DeSean Jackson will be 33 soon and Nelson Agholor hasn’t lived up to his lofty billing, so it’ll be intersting to see if Roseman pulls the trigger on Brown if he’s still on the board.
McShay went with the other side of the football, mocking another former Washington Huskies star cornerback to the Eagles at pick No. 25.
25. Philadelphia Eagles
Byron Murphy, CB, Washington | HighlightsInjuries hit the Philly secondary last season — not a single cornerback started at least nine games. Murphy has the ball skills and instincts to really excel in the Eagles’ zone coverage scheme.
Brown is definitely a pick I can see Roseman making, while with six cornerbacks already on the roster, the Eagles might lean more towards safety help, rather than another corner.
