Jason Peters returned to the Philadelphia Eagles this summer with the idea of extending his career after moving to right guard. With Andre Dillard out for the season with a torn biceps, the expectation was that Peters would immediately move back to left tackle.
There were initial reports that Peters wanted a restructured contract to play the high profile left tackle position and with six days before the Eagles travel to Washington, the future Hall of Famer walked into head coach Doug Pederson’s office and initiated the move back to left tackle.
According to Jeff McLane of The Inquirer, Peters made the move on good faith and most importantly, without a reworked contract.

Peters’s overall grade of 83.4 in 2019 ranked second among all left tackles, and no player graded out better in the clutch than Peters did. It was a balanced effort with grades of 77.0 or higher as both a pass-protector and run-blocker. Peters allowed just five pressures in 114 pass-blocking snaps across these plays.
Peters, who has spent the last 11 years with the Eagles, is still talented and finished the 2019 NFL season as one of the highest-graded offensive linemen in football.
