Eagles' Jalen Mills cited in D.C. fight that sent Wizards' Devin Robinson to hospital

Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills was cited for "disorderly affray" early Saturday morning, as was NBA Washington Wizards player Devin Robinson, after what District of Columbia police called "a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical altercation on the sidewalk adjacent to the Opera Night Club."

Mills was taken to the Second District police station, where he paid $35 and was released, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The source said Mills was not given a court date, so presumably, there will be no further repercussions, unless the team or the league wants to pursue the matter. Police said Robinson was transported to Sibley Hospital for treatment.

The source said that Mills, 25, did not know Robinson, 24, but that Robinson apparently objected to Mills' being in a D.C. nightclub when he doesn't play for a Washington-area team.

Mills, a starter in 2018 before suffering a late-season foot injury, is preparing for his fourth season with the Eagles.

Robinson played in seven games in this, his second NBA season with the Wizards, who said they will not be extending him a qualifying offer.

The Eagles issued the usual statement whenever a legal situation with a player occurs: "The Philadelphia Eagles are aware of the situation involving defensive back Jalen Mills and are continuing to gather more information. No further comment will be provided at this time."
