Eagles held to 7 offensive plays as Vikings dominate 1st-quarter, take 10-0 lead

The Minnesota Vikings dominated the first quarter in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, taking the opening drive 13 plays for 75 yards while milking 7:17 off the clock to take a seven-point lead over Philadelphia.

Adam Thielen scorched Sidney Jones on a double move for a six-yard score from Kirk Cousins to put Minnesota up 7-0.

The Vikings went at Jones early, and often before the Eagles decided to have Rasul Douglas shadow Adam Thielen.

Philadelphia went three-and-out on their first drive (all three running plays), while Minnesota turned their second opportunity into a nine-play, 35-yard drive, ending with a Dan Bailey 39-yard field goal to put the Vikings up 10-0.
