Eagles held players only meeting preaching ‘accountability’ and urgency with HC Doug Pederson on the ‘hot seat’

The Eagles are playing for their season and head coach Doug Pederson’s job according to Ian Rapoport, who is reporting that Philadelphia team leaders recently held an impromptu team meeting to discuss saving their coach.

The report from Rapoport harps on Eagles players this week, taking accountability for their poor play, while realizing the urgency of the situation they’re currently in.

Sources say captains and team leaders such as quarterback Carson Wentz, defensive end Brandon Graham, and center Jason Kelce, among others, stayed after for an impromptu meeting. Head coach Doug Pederson was also present. They preached accountability and taking responsibility for their actions, how urgent the situation had become, and how necessary it was to turn it around.

Pederson for his part has already started sharing play-calling duties in a collaborative effort and the Eagles badly need a win after losing three straight games since their Week 9 bye.

With the NFL coaching carousel starting to take shape the Eagles and Pederson badly need a win starting on Sunday afternoon.
