Eagles’ have open roster spot after an OL retires

The Philadelphia Eagles have an open roster spot after a reserve lineman abruptly retired on Monday. Offensive tackle, Tyreek Burwell retired from the NFL after three seasons.

Burwell signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2015 as an undrafted free agent after playing college football at the University of Cincinnati. Burwell was released by the Chargers in 2016 and signed to the practice squad. The next seasons, Burwell was signed to Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad and was promoted to the active roster that November.

Burwell signed a reserve/future contract with the Eagles in January and will now walk away from the game.
