Eagles’ DT Fletcher Cox questions whether there are 27 players in the NFL better than him

Fletcher Cox is one of the best defenders on the planet and yet the All-Pro still feels like he’s not getting the respect he deserves from all across the board and most importantly his peers. On Monday, Cox became the fourth Eagles player to be named to the NFL Network’s Top 100 players list, moving up 40 spots to No. 28.

On Wednesday, Cox let the media know that he wasn’t feeling the ranking, saying with his chest, as he questioned if there are 27 players in the NFL better than him.

Tape doesn’t lie and Cox is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, regardless of position or coming off the edge.

Cox’s 91.2 pass-rush grade last season put him in the rare company regardless of position and he’s not an edge rusher.

According to PFF’s Austin Gayle, Cox ranks second behind Donald among the 125 interior defensive linemen with 500 or more pass-rush snaps since 2015, second in pass-rush grade, total pressures, and pass-rush win percentage. Cox and JJ Watt, who came in at No. 12, can definitely switch positions on the list, along with a few other big named guys.
