Eagles doing their due diligence on Jalen Ramsey amid rumors Jags want two 1st-rd picks

The Philadelphia Eagles have in fact started to do their due diligence on what it would take to pry Jalen Ramsey away from the Jacksonville Jaguars according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com. Besides his impact on the Philadelphia locker room, the Eagles will have to decide if they’re willing to part with two first round picks, the rumored compensation that the Jaguars are searching for per Albert Breer.

The Eagles have been doing their homework on Ramsey, according to sources. The same was true with Minkah Fitzpatrick, who on Monday was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a first-round pick plus some later-round pick swaps.

Ramsey is also looking to be the highest paid cornerback in the NFL, something that might be difficult to do with Carson Wentz’s contract extension and the Eagles desire to build around their signal caller with younger and cheaper talent.

The Eagles have struggled at cornerback over the past 18 months and Ronald Darby’s performance against the Falcons didn’t instill great confidence in team executives going forward. Darby is coming off an ACL injury and has manned the one side of the field, with Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas splitting snaps on the opposite side.

Philadelphia has already given up six touchdowns this season, and Darby is the most targeted cornerback in the NFL through two games according to Pro Football Focus.
