Eagles defense can expect to see a lot Derrius Guice for the Redskins and less Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson gashed the Philadelphia Eagles for a 90-yard touchdown last season during the teams December matchup in Philadelphia. In his return this Sunday, Peterson’s opportunity for the big play will be lessened by the emergence of second-year running back, Derrius Guice.

The second-year back from LSU is a stud and according to Redskins coach Jay Gruden, expected to carry the ball more than the future Hall of Famer, Peterson.

Gruden pulled no punches and made it clear that the Redskins running game would go through Guice this season and not Pederson. The former LSU running back missed his rookie season with a knee injury. Making this matchup even more personal for Guice and the Eagles is the alleged shouting match that took place during the NFL Draft process two years ago.

The dustup reportedly led to Guice falling to the Washington Redskins at No. 59 overall in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft.
