Eagles’ DC Jim Schwartz says Timmy Jernigan is looking better than ever

Timmy Jernigan was supposed to be making over $10 million this season, but after an injury-plagued 2018 that saw him miss several games with a back injury, the Eagles cut him, deciding to decline an option that could have netted him huge dollars.

Jernigan is back, focused and looking to make big things happen along the Eagles defensive front. On Tuesday, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz addressed the media after practice, and all he could talk about was Jernigan.

Schwartz was gushy in describing how disruptive Jernigan has looked during the 2019 training camp.

Jernigan will compete with Hassan Ridgeway and Treyvon Hester for a spot in the loaded defensive line rotation.
