The San Diego residence, built in 2007, backs an open-space preserve on nearly two acres in Santaluz, with an entertainer's pavilion, an outdoor fireplace and a pool with a water feature. The single-story floor plan, with beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces, includes a formal dining room, a living room, a chef's kitchen and an office in about 6,000 square feet.

Among the features are a billiards room, a wine cellar and a home theater with tiered seating. The master suite sports his and hers counters, a soaking tub and a fireplace.

Sproles, who spent six seasons for with the San Diego Chargers, purchased the home in December 2012 for $2.5 million, records show. Daniel Beer of Windermere Home Estates was the listing agent. John Olson of Coldwell banker-Olivenhain represented the buyers in sale.

As for the Metairie townhouse, the three-story unit has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, an updated kitchen and a great room with a fireplace in about 3,800 square feet.

Sproles, who was traded by the New Orleans Saints to the Eagles in March, put the home on the market in May at $650,000. He paid $595,000 for the property in September 2011, records show. Angela Discon of Keller Williams Realty is the listing agent.

Sproles, 31, has 1,103 total yards and seven touchdowns for the Eagles through 12 games this season. While with New Orleans in 2011, he set an NFL record for all-purpose yards in a season, with 2,696.
