Eagles could sit Alshon Jeffery and Jason Peters vs. the Saints due to soreness

The Philadelphia Eagles could be without Alshon Jeffery and Jason Peters on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Peters is dealing with a toe injury that’ll require surgery, while Jeffery appears to have sore legs after working his way back from a foot injury.

Whether it’s for lack of production or simply wanting to give the young guys reps, the Eagles appear prepared to play the Saints without both high-priced veterans.

Jeffery saw his snap count increase against the Packers and he’s now played a total of 93 snaps in four games since returning to the lineup.

Jeffery has been targeted 8 times and has 2 catches for 15 yards while cutting into Travis Fulgham’s playing time.

The Eagles will likely wait and see about Peters’ toe surgery but he may have played his final down of the 2020 NFL season.
