Eagles' Corey Clement and Josh Sweat out for season with injuries

PHILADELPHIA _ The season-ending injuries continue to accumulate for the Eagles, who placed running back Corey Clement and defensive end Josh Sweat on injured reserve on Tuesday.

They signed running back Boston Scott and defensive end Daeshon Hall as replacements.

Clement injured his knee in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. It ends a season that did not go as Clement hoped. The second-year running back finished with 68 carries for 259 yards and two touchdowns along with 22 catches for 192 yards. It was not a bad season, but after leading the team in receiving yards in the Super Bowl, Clement could not seize the starting job after Jay Ajayi's injury earlier this season.

Sweat, the Eagles' fourth-round pick, injured his ankle. He finishes his rookie season with one tackle in nine games. This was viewed as a developmental year for Sweat.

The exact nature of either injury is not yet known.

The Eagles will rely on Josh Adams, Darren Sproles, and Wendell Smallwood at running back, but they'll get another rookie to develop in Scott. The 5-foot-7, 195-pound Scott was a sixth-round pick out of the Louisiana Tech and had been on the Saints practice squad.

The Eagles will continue to use Michael Bennett, Brandon Graham and Chris Long at defense. Hall will now be the fourth pass rusher in the rotation. A 2017 third-round pick out of Texas A&M, Hall played one game for Carolina last season and was waived on cut-down day. He was on the 49ers' practice squad and the Texans' active roster this season. Hall is 6-foot-5 and 266 pounds and ran a 4.76 40-yard dash.
