Eagles claim S Godwin Igwebuike off waivers

Likely looking to improve their depth at safety, the Philadelphia Eagles have claimed Godwin Igwebuike off waivers, the team announced Tuesday.

Igwebuike was waived by the 49ers on Monday night, per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Igwebuike, a former Northwestern Wildcats defensive back, was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and was waived during training camp. He then signed to the Bucs’ practice squad.

Igwebuike played 64 special teams snaps between the 49ers and Buccaneers last season, recording two total tackles.
