Eagles claim S Blake Countess off waivers from the Rams

The Philadelphia Eagles made another transaction on Friday, claiming safety Blake Countess off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams.

The move is an interesting one, as Countess is a solid player in a crowded group now. The Eagles signed Andrew Sendejo a few weeks back and just claimed safety Godwin Igwebuike as well. Countess, formerly a sixth-round draft pick with the Birds, he was cut prior to the start of the 2016 NFL season, then signed with Rams’, where he specialized in the role as a backup safety and special teams contributor.

In three seasons with LA, Countess played in 37 games, starting four as he amassed 44 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions.
