Eagles CB Ronald Darby optimistic he’ll be ready for the season opener

Ronald Darby took a one-year deal with the Eagles this offseason, in part because he wants to prove that he’s an elite corner less than a year after tearing his ACL during a game last November. Darby has now advanced to running at a rapid rate and on Wednesday during the Eagles OTA session, he was optimistic that he’ll be ready for the season opener.

The Eagles go six-deep at the cornerback position, with Darby being the highest paid among a group that includes Jalen Mills, Avonte Maddox, Sidney Jones, Cre’Von LeBlanc and Rasul Douglas. Maddox and Douglas have ascended up the depth chart after playing well down the stretch for the Eagles last season, while Jones continues to have the backing of the teams coaching staff.
