Eagles’ CB after barreling into Jeffrey Lurie: “I ain’t never even seen the owner”

Josh Hawkins is a reserve cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles who is currently battling to claim a spot on the loaded roster. His response to running over the team’s owner likely won’t win him too many votes during the final meetings of minds that are responsible for trimming the roster to 53.

Hawkins and Shelton Gibson were battling for a ball on Tuesday when the two players went barreling into the sidelines, running over the team’s owner of 25 years, Jeffrey Lurie. Upon learning it was Lurie that he plowed into, Hawkins had this say via Bo Wolf of The Athletic.

“That was who? Sh*t. I ain’t even know. First of all, I ain’t never even seen the owner, so I ain’t know who it was. But I made the play! That’s what he wants! That’s why I’m here!”

Gibson, the Eagles veteran wide receiver had a much better response to the whole drama, telling Wulf that he was just hell-bent on getting away from the carnage before anyone could recognize him.

For Hawkins part, he was correct in his final statement, because he definitely did make the play.
