Eagles' Brooks hurt in preseason game

PHILADELPHIA _The concern about the right side of the Philadephia Eagles' offensive line could grow after right guard Brandon Brooks left the preseason opener Thursday with an injury, adding more uncertainty to a unit that could be in limbo if right tackle Lane Johnson is suspended.

Brooks left after the first drive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a right biceps injury. There was no word on the severity of the injury, but he was immediately ruled out for the game and went to the locker room. Brooks signed a five-year, $40 million contract in March to upgrade the offensive line. He missed the first week of training camp with a hamstring injury.

Johnson started at his usual right tackle spot as reports said he faces a 10-game suspension for a second violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Johnson has not been suspended, and he told Fox Sports that he took an approved substance.
