Eagles at Anfield: Full event guide with everything you need to know

The Eagles perform at Anfield tonight bringing an end to the stadium’s summer concerts series.

This month, the home of Liverpool FC has hosted a series of major events, with tens of thousands of fans coming to the ground to watch the Rolling Stones, Elton John and now the Eagles. The band is on a tour of UK and Ireland this month, performing in London, Dublin and Edinburgh, to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Fans are expecting to be taken on a musical journey through the band’s impressive five decades of hits, with Hotel California and Life in the Fast Line sure to feature.

Below, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know if you’re heading down to Anfield for the show.

Eagles setlist

The Eagles fans won’t find out the final setlist until Monday night, but chances are it will be similar to this recent setlist for the band’s show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas on May 28:

The support act for the Eagles is Grammy award winning Little Big Town, an American country music group, made up of Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook.

Start times

Doors at Anfield stadium will open at 5pm on Monday for the Eagles. Support act Little Big Town is due on stage at 7pm and The Eagles will be on stage at around 8.10pm.

Weather forecast

After a hot spell at the end of last week, the temperature dropped over the weekend. Thankfully, according to the Met Office, conditions in Liverpool are forecast to stay largely dry with sunny spells on Monday and it’s due to feel ‘rather warm’.

The temperature at 4pm will be around 17 degrees, dropping to 16 degrees by 7pm and 15 degrees by 10pm when the concert ends. Sunset is 9.44pm.

Banned items

Fans are prohibited from bringing a number of items into the event. The full list of banned items is as follows:

Bags and suitcases

Drink cartons

Cans

Plastic bottles over 500ml

Glass bottles

Baby buggies/prams

Laptops/computer tablets

Video recording equipment and large bodied cameras

Guests are also asked to not bring any type of bags to the concert. For all performances, guests will only be allowed to carry bags that do not exceed 30 cm x 15 cm x 30 cm (10 inch x 10 inch). Anfield Stadium also operates on a cashless basis.

Getting to Anfield Stadium by car, bus and train

Anfield Stadium is based on Anfield Road, Anfield, Liverpool, L4 0TH. There's a number of ways to get to the stadium, though it's best to plan your route in advance. Using public transport is advised. If you're travelling by bus, there's express services that takes passengers to and from Anfield and Liverpool city centre in around 15 minutes.

The 917 express shuttle bus service operates from Commutation Row in the city centre from 3.30pm each show day. You can find out more by clicking here . From the city centre, there's the 26 from Liverpool ONE bus station; 17 from Queen Square Bus Station or the 917 from Commutation Row, directly to the ground. The 68/168, which operates between Bootle and Aigburth, and the 14 and 19 (from Queen Square) stop a short walk away from the ground.

The Concert Bus will run from Sandhills Station, on the Merseyrail Northern Line, to Anfield for all concerts at Anfield. The Concert Bus will run from 4.30pm on show day. You can find out more by clicking here.

If you're travelling from outside Liverpool by train, Lime Street station is based two miles from Anfield. From 1.30pm each show day, LFC will have a dedicated fan support team based at the station to help direct fans to the most convenient transport services, including buses. There's also taxis available from Lime Street.

If you're travelling by train within the Liverpool area, Merseyrail operates regular services across 67 stations throughout Merseyside. Passengers can get regular services into Liverpool from Ellesmere Port, Chester, West Kirby and New Brighton on the Wirral Line and Southport, Ormskirk, Kirkby and Hunts Cross on the Northern Line.

Road closures

There will be a number of road closures for the concert tomorrow night. Both carriageways of Walton Breck Road will be closed from 12 noon, a temporary road closure will be put in place to help crowds enter and leave the stadium safely.

The road will remain closed until midnight or earlier if it’s deemed ‘safe.’ Pedestrian access will be maintained during this time, direction signage will be in place to direct pedestrians in the area.

Anfield Road will remain a no through road due to LFC’s Anfield Road Stadium expansion. Pedestrian access will be available via Dhalia walk.

Skerries Road will close to cars from 12 noon, but residents will be granted access. There will also be steel shield fencing installed around the food hub at the end of the road (located on club property) as part of the stadium access for concerts.

Parking at Anfield Stadium

There is no car parking available at the stadium for ticket holders, so be sure to use public transport to travel to Anfield. For fans who want to park on the day of the event, they will be advised to take city centre car parks and take the 917 bus service, or other local train and bus services to the station.

There is limited disabled car parking available on Stanley Car Park which must be pre-booked. There are disabled drop-off and pick-up areas on Arkles Lane and Gilman Street, which service both sides of the stadium.

Pick up and drop off areas for all other vehicles are on Priory Road, as well as coach parking. Fans are also advised to not park on residential streets, as any illegally parked cars could be fined.

The Football Match Parking Zone (FMPZ) also operates from 10pm – 12am from August 1 to 30 June. This time period will allow enforcement to take place to cover all potential match times, concerts, and major events.
