Eagles among most improved teams in NFL after the 1st-wave of free agency?

The first week of 2019 NFL free agency has ended with most of the top available free agents having found homes. The Browns and Raiders shook free agency up with mega-trades and now the question has to be asked, who improved the most? ESPN and their panel of experts took a shot at naming the most improved team after free agency.

The Cleveland Browns were exempt after making a franchise-changing trade to acquire Odell Beckham from the New York Giants. With the Browns out of contention, there were a handful of teams viewed as most improved, with the Philadelphia Eagles getting a vote from Kevin Seifert, ESPN’s national writer.

Per Seifert:

Let’s not forget what the Eagles have done, amid outsized concerns that they would be too tight against the salary cap to do much. They signed defensive tackle Malik Jackson to play alongside Fletcher Cox, as potent an interior pairing as there is in the NFL. And they brought back receiver DeSean Jackson, who is still one of the NFL’s top deep threats and is adept at the routes quarterback Carson Wentz throws best.

Adding Jackson should make Fletcher Cox even more dominant in 2019, and for Carson Wentz, he’ll finally have a home run threat to throw to after the team acquired DeSean Jackson. Among the other teams receiving votes were the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets.
