The Eagles acquired wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham from the Tennessee Titans for offensive lineman Dennis Kelly on Tuesday morning in a deal that bolsters the Eagles' wide receiver corps with one of the top talents in last year's draft.
Green-Beckham, a 2015 second-round pick, is a former top high school recruit who finished with 32 catches for 549 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. At 6-foot-5 and 237 pounds, Green-Beckham is an imposing receiver who becomes the Eagles' biggest target.
However, Green-Beckham arrives with a checkered off-field history and fell out of favor with the team that drafted him after one season.
He started his college career at Missouri, where he was dismissed after a burglary and assault investigation for allegedly pushing a female down stairs. He was not charged for the incident. He was also arrested twice for marijuana-related incidents, but no charges were filed. He transferred to Oklahoma, although he never played a game.
That caused his draft stock to slip. However, after an impressive rookie season, he was running with the Titans' second-team offense during training camp. Titans coach Mike Mularkey wanted to see more consistency from him.
Even with offensive-line problems, the Eagles surrendered Kelly in the deal. A 2012 fifth-round pick, Kelly has 15 career starts with the Eagles and nine at right tackle. He had been the team's No. 2 right tackle this summer, but the Eagles moved Allen Barbre to right tackle after news broke of Lane Johnson's pending suspension.
