Eagles 53-man roster: T.J. Edwards makes the cut; Jalen Mills placed on PUP list

The Philadelphia Eagles made some surprising cuts and one undrafted rookie appears to be the teams future at middle linebacker after Wisconsin star, T.J. Edwards made the 53 man roster.

The Eagles are stacked and in the end, decided to only carry two tight ends on the initial depth chart. Edwards along with Nate Herbig, are the only undrafted rookies to survive the purge. Mack Hollin’s special team prowess allowed him to hold off Greg Ward for the fifth and final wide receiver spot.

On the offensive line, the Eagles top eight was already set, but Matt Pryor and Herbig played well enough to get Stefen Wisniewski and Brett Toth cut as well. The defensive line is stacked, as the Eagles sat out the Jadeveon Clowney sweepstakes, choosing to play with five defensive ends: Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, Josh Sweat, Daeshon Hall and the rookie Shareef Miller.

The linebacker crew is underrated, with Zach Brown and Edwards as the new additions to the roster. Johnathan Cyprien and new safety, Rudy Ford made the cut and should provide depth at safety and linebacker.
