Eagle-eyed Squid Game viewers spot error as characters tuck into dinner

Squid Game is the south Korean thriller that has captured the attention of millions of viewers after being released on Netflix.

The hit show which sees contestants laden with debt compete to win prize money - or die - is set to be one of its biggest shows ever.

So naturally, social media is abuzz with theories and memes from the bloodthirsty show - which has left people reeling.

One TikTok went viral after capturing the moment where one of the actors is fake eating.

After a tough day, the contestants were served up a hearty meal - but it seems not everyone was hungry.

Gi-hun appears to be eating - but eagle-eyed viewers spotted that his spoon was kept empty as he mock-ate instead.

People were left in stitches after a viewer shared the moment on TikTok, as one person jokily asked: “How do you even notice the smallest details, I swear to God”.

The video was viewed more than 40 million times - and racked up thousands of comments from viewers loving the series.

One person suggested: "Maybe he did the scene so many times he was full."

However, there were people who had a much more reasonable explanation for the error.

One person explained: “Usually they are told not to eat whenever they are filming a scene with food.

"Firstly because they'll be taking various shots and they can't have the food be eaten or else they wouldn't be able to continue recording.

"Secondly, they're told to pretend to eat so when they have to talk in a scene, they don't risk choking on their food.

"And it makes it easier to have a clear shot of what the actor is saying."

They added: "The only time they eat the food is when they take a direct shot of the person eating."
