Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans spot horrifying clue that proves Linda murdered Keanu

Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans have spotted a horrifying clue that indicates Linda Carter may have murdered Keanu Taylor.

Linda finally returned home after her Christmas from hell - and the only gift she received was a nasty black eye.

Lying Linda told furious husband Mick that she had stayed with a friend who needed help and got the injury by falling over.

But EastEnders viewers are convinced she played a role in Keanu Taylor's death after watching her scrub her shoes.

Dishevelled Linda had a shower then burst into tears - then looked down at the blood on her towel.

Taking to Twitter , one viewer asked: "Linda has blood on her shoe? Maybe Linda somehow she got caught up with the fight between keanu and Martin?"

"Wonder what Linda has been involved in to get blood on her shoes? Because if it was Keanu’s murder, she should probably chuck them instead of trying to clean it off," added another.

A third said: "Blood on Linda's shoe now really? Could she of actually been a witness to whatever Martin did/didn't do to poor Keanu?"

"Surely #EastEnders aren't going to go with the whole 'Martin made a drunk Linda shoot Keanu' nonsense," said a fourth.

Trying to explain what happened to her, Linda told Mick: "I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what happened to me. How I ended up in hospital. It's just a blank. I'm scared, Mick."

Mick told Linda that she needed help and his wife agreed to stop drinking if he would trust her.

However, once Mick left the room she ran over to grab a bottle of vodka from under the sink then burts into tears she she poured it away.

There is more evidence to back up the theory - as Linda is seen walking past a van in her Mrs Claus outfit on Christmas Day in the New Year's Day trailer.

On first look seems innocuous, but it is actually a major spoiler as it's the same van that Keanu and Louise got inside before Martin knocked him unconscious.

Does this mean that Linda knows what Martin did? Or did she help fake Keanu's death?

Executive Producer for EastEnders, Jon Sen, has teased details of the special flashback show.

Speaking about the New Year's Day episode, Jon said: “We all agreed that Christmas is so good we wanted to do it twice!

"So this year the New Year’s Day episode will be a format-busting sixty minute episode taking us back to the beginning of Christmas Day to see the stories from different perspectives.

"As the episode unfolds, viewers will discover what really happened on that day, when new secrets were born and fresh alliances forged.

"I can’t wait to see how fans react."

EastEnders boss Kate Oates believes the viewers won't even have realised there were some questions that needed answering.

She added: "All serial dramas have played with format over recent years and it’s less of a surprise these days so to do it. There has to be a reason.

"There was so much story to get in there. There are lots of unanswered questions from Christmas Day and some of them, the audience won’t even have realised have been raised until they watch.

"What I really like about this Christmas is there’s a lot of history in there. Martin’s story looks at the history of what happened with Jamie all those years ago, the Carter story looks at the history of the Vic. We very much pay tribute to EastEnders history while being rich in story.

"The flashback episode is built around lots of little clues and it will pay off really awesomely I think. The writers, directors and actors have done a brilliant job in just making it feel really clever and exciting. We’ve done it for a really good reason."

*EastEnders airs tonight on BBC One at 9pm
