EA Sports continues to dominate the digital charts, claiming three of the top ten spots in PlayStation 5’s October download rankings, according to Rhys Elliott’s Alinea Insight newsletter.
The newsletter provides an in-depth look at the top 10 best-selling games (based on the most copies sold) on PS5 for October. The last couple of months have been gold for sports game fans as a lot of the popular sports games were released. Madden 26 and College Football were released earlier, with NBA 2K26 and EA FC 26 following soon after.
EA has been on a roll in terms of sales, as three of its games were in the top 10 list. EA FC 26 was 2nd with EA FC 25 and Madden 26 placing 7th and 8th. Not to mention, Battlefield 6 topped the charts, which is also an EA title. This is good news for both sports fans and EA, particularly following the buyout announcement.
Top 10 Most Sold Games On PS5

Apart from EA Sports titles, 2K also made the list with NBA 2K26 placing 5th. Then, you have the games that never fail to sell, like Minecraft and GTA V. For context, here is the entire list, starting from the most sold.
- Battlefield 6 – 3.2 million
- EA Sports FC 26 – 3.0 million
- Ghost of Yotei – 2.7 million
- Minecraft – 635,000
- NBA 2K26 – 564,000
- EA FC 25 – 350,000
- Grand Theft Auto 5 – 338,000
- EA Madden NFL 26 – 261,000
- Little Nightmares 3 – 245,000
- Digimon Story: Time Stranger – 241,000
The list starts with Battlefield 6 with 3.2 million copies sold. This was obvious as the open beta was quite successful, and the game had nothing but positive reviews. Plus, with REDSEC out and it being free-to-play, the sales are bound to increase.
Then you have EA FC 26, which, despite player complaints, still managed to sell an impressive 3 million copies. It’s a clear reminder of just how massive the EA FC franchise has become. Even more surprising is EA FC 25, a year-old title that continues to perform strongly, with an additional 350,000 copies sold.
Madden 26 isn’t far behind either, moving 261,000 units in the same period. The numbers highlight the global pull of soccer compared to football — when last year’s game can outsell a newer release, it says everything about the sport’s reach.
This goes to show that sports games, especially EA titles, have massive fan bases that will buy these games out of sheer loyalty and brand.
