EA Sports removes Von Miller from ’99 Club’ in ‘Madden’

After three years of having a perfect rating in EA Sports’ popular Madden NFL video game, Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller has been removed from the game’s “99 Club” for this year’s version.

EA Sports announced this week that Texans wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner and Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald will be the only players with perfect 99 overall ratings in Madden NFL 20.

Miller was among seven players that had perfect ratings in last year’s version of the game. Donald is the only player that has kept a perfect rating in each of the last two years.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, retired tight end Rob Gronkowski, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown and Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly were also removed from the “99 Club” this year.

This marks the first time since EA Sports’ 2015 version of the game that Miller has not had a perfect rating. He was rated 97 overall that year.

In addition to revealing the top-rated players in the game, EA Sports has also announced rookie ratings. Broncos first-round draft pick Noah Fant is rated 74 overall. The tight end will compete for the No. 1 TE job this summer.
