EA Sports Madden NFL is partnering with the NFL to bring the Madden NFL 26 International Challenge to Madrid, Spain.
The esports event will engage the expanding international audience and conclude with an in-person finale on November 15, the day before the Washington Commanders face the Miami Dolphins in the 2025 NFL Madrid Game.
The Madrid Challenge is part of EA Sports and the NFL’s effort to reach football fans around the world, both in-person and online. Using Madden esports as a platform, the event aims to grow interest in the NFL across key European markets while showing how esports can create engaging experiences beyond the game.
Players can qualify through PlayStation Tournaments or ChallengerMode for the chance to compete internationally and earn a unique experience in Madrid. Madden NFL 26 players in Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom can enter a $10,000 regional tournament on PlayStation Tournaments from October 6-16.
Competitors from the United States, Canada and Mexico can take part in a $50,000 qualifier on ChallengerMode. Both paths offer prize money and a chance to join the live championship and watch the 2025 NFL Madrid Game in person.
The live finale will be held at the Real Madrid Club Shop inside the Bernabéu, Spain’s second-largest sports venue. Fans can follow the action on the official Madden NFL Twitch and YouTube channels with more details to come.
