EA forced to apologise after FIFA 23 web app sees major issues just hours after launch

EA were forced to apologise after FIFA 23's Ultimate Team web app crashed within hours of it being launched.

The game itself doesn't arrive on to our consoles until next weekend, but the FUT app allows players to access limited FIFA Ultimate Team features and items ahead of the full release.

Usually, they buy and sell packs, building their team so that they don't have to waste time in doing so after the game's release.

However, there were major problems after the app went live on Wednesday evening.

Everything seemed fine until around 9am this morning, when the FUT app crashed, not allowing players to access the website.

Players were instead given the following message: "It looks like your EA Account doesn't have a FUT 23 Club. Before we keep going, make sure you're logged in with the right account. In order to use the FIFA 23 Companion App or Web App, you will need to create a FUT 23 Club on your console or PC."

A later response from EA read: "We're aware of an issue preventing some players connecting to the Web App, and we’re investigating."

The issue has since been resolved, but not after hundreds of angry FIFA players made their thoughts known on social media.

FIFA 23 will be released on Friday, September 30, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One.

Players who have pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23 or are subscribed to EA Play will be given early access to the game, allowing players access to the game on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
