EA FC 26 is receiving yet another update following continuous feedback from fans about the CPU AI being too easy and predictable. The v1.13 Update aims to make the CPU AI smarter and more authentic.
Because of the poor AI, Career Mode in EA FC 26 had become stale. The AI was easy to read and defend against, making matches feel boring. Thankfully, this next update aims to fix these issues. In a thread under the original tweet, the team talked about the AI issues and how the next update is going to fix them:
We’ve heard your feedback about wanting the CPU AI to feel more organic and challenging, and v1.1.3 is intended to make the CPU AI better at dribbling, passing, and player switch decision-making.
The combination of updates to these areas means that the CPU AI can make better passing plays, lose the ball less often, and generally play a more authentic and effective style of football.
These changes will be more noticeable on higher difficulties.
They also attached a short video showcasing the difference this update brings. Here is the video:
What Does The Update Mainly Fix?

Just saying the AI is improving is a generic statement. The question is, what are they working on to improve the AI? Well, the new update mainly improves the decision-making of the CPU AI, making it think like a real player. Here are the exact improvements to the AI that this patch will feature.
The CPU AI will now aim to:
- Look for passes more often and make quicker decisions about them.
- Dribble more effectively with sharper turns, less straightforward movement, and less dwelling on the ball.
- Switch players on defense more often in situations where trailing the runner is not beneficial.
It’s important to mention that these changes will affect both Competitive and Authentic Presets.
The update looks like it will fix the lingering AI issues within the game. After this patch goes live, matches should feel more real, and AI shouldn’t feel predictable and easy to beat.
