EA FC 26 today unveiled the Nike Phantom Cup, a limited-time in-game tournament for Clubs, developed in tandem with Nike. The event offers Clubs players themed visuals, custom kits, and unique rewards tied to the Nike Phantom 6 boots.
It’s the first Clubs-focused tournament of its kind, lending further credence to the fact that Clubs has now become a greater part of the modern EA FC ecosystem, something that its current monetization model already made apparent.
Two-Stage Competitive Format
The Nike Phantom Cup event is structured as two consecutive cup competitions:
- Nike Phantom Cup (Week 1 | Sept 29 – Oct 13): Players receive 50 attempts across 3 rounds to compete for rewards. Qualifying through this first stage grants access to the second.
- Nike Phantom Pro Cup (Week 2 | Oct 6 – Oct 13): This advanced cup features 4 rounds and is open only to those who win the initial Phantom Cup.
Players who succeed in the Phantom Pro Cup can unlock additional cosmetic items, consumables, and Club Coin rewards.

Why The Nike Phantom Cup Is A Good Idea
I’ve been incredibly critical of EA’s handling of the new Archetype system that’s been introduced in EA FC 26. That said, I’m always in favor of organized competitions that reward players with consumables and boosts. It signifies that progression can come with quality play, and that it won’t only be reliant upon how much money players are willing to part with.
It’s early days, so we’ll have to see how it’s handled. But overall, I like the idea and the overall investment into Clubs mode.
