After several reports from players about inconsistent match tracking, EA Sports has extended the World Tour Silver Superstars League event in EA FC 26. Due to these match tracking issues, players could not complete objectives and earn their rightful rewards. EA officially addressed this issue earlier today on Twitter, extending the number of entries from 20 to 35 and moving the end date of the event to October 24.
An Event Plagued With Technical Issues
The Silver Superstars League was supposed to be one of FC 26‘s special World Tour events that encouraged players to build special squads. As the name implies, this specific event was centered around silver-rated players, including rare silver icons. Winning 12 matches would net you the World Tour Silver Superstar Bobby Charlton card, and some of the extra rewards objectives would give you up to two 83+ Rare Gold Players packs.
Previously, you were only given to 20 matches to complete the event, which was already quite limiting even without these issues. Now, you can compete in up to 35 matches till October 24th, though matches you’ve already participated in still count to the total. Players are still frustrated, though, as they experienced wins not registering, disconnects registering as losses, and inconsistent match data.
While the extension is a quick response to the problem and does address the issue fairly well, fans under EA’s Twitter post argue that this is becoming a pattern. A lot of people are unhappy with the quality of FC 26, especially PC players who are still facing performance issues. EA’s weekly fixes address a rotating list of issues, but at this point, they feel more like temporary patches on a sinking ship. Since the September 26 release, players have dealt with unstable servers, sluggish menus, corrupted Ultimate Team data, and botched promo rollouts. It’s been far from the smooth launch fans were hoping for.
