E4 Married at First Sight UK viewers demand newlywed Whitney is removed from show as she speaks out

Married At First Sight have demanded that one of the show's newest brides is REMOVED from the show after they were left unimpressed by her behaviour. During the first episode of the new series, which began on Monday (August 29), viewers saw Whitney Hughes marry Duka Cav.

They were the first of two couples to walk down the aisle as the 2022 edition of the E4 reality show kicked off but things didn't get off to the best of starts for the strangers as Whitney, 31, admitted to the cameras that her new husband wasn't quite what she was hoping for.

"I wanted a man who’s a man that’s towering over me, like massive, like a brick house," she said during her wedding day. "Compared to a house, maybe he’s a shed." However, it appears he did have one redeeming feature - his beard. She added: "But there’s no patches in his beard, so I'm not going to knock his beard."

Later, Whitney was also seen mocking her groom's Yugoslavian name and had earlier threatened to pull out of the wedding as she stood at the altar. After getting through their wedding reception, Whitney and Duka were whisked off on their luxurious honeymoon on safari in South Africa.

During the latest episode, speaking to the camera, Whitney slammed Duka as ‘fake’, accusing him of putting on a ‘fake act’, while Duka told viewers that his new wife was ‘caring’. But in heated scenes later on, Whitney and Duka clashed after she lost her wedding ring while on safari.

"My ring kind of fell off on safari, I don’t know, when I got off it wasn’t there anymore," Whitney told Duka, clarifying that she didn’t "lose the ring," but it "lost itself". He replied: "These things happen, It’s one of those things, would you be willing to get another one, get a replacement?"

However, she shut his offer down, saying: "I don’t really feel like it’s necessary, I like this hand not having anything on it, she likes to be free and not held down," adding: "You can keep yours on though."

Duka later told the camera: ‘I’ve been taking Whitney’s comments on the chin but it hit breaking point almost,’ before a return to the scene and the pair clashing in an intense argument while sat down for a romantic dinner. "I feel like it’s a one way thing, and you’re a shiny person," Whitney told her new husband.

"You’re not that person which is why I jibe at you, I’m like be yourself," she continued to tell him.

Duka said at one point during the conversation: "It's like you expect me to be annoyed because you think colourful means one thing and I think it means another thing..."

It led Whitney to tell Duka that he was different off camera. She added: "You act like as if you're Vicky Victim, and as if you're Perky Pete." While he disagreed, she later shouted at him: "You are just talking s**t! Stop being fake, just be you." But fans were left unimpressed.

@TheFredaLee tweeted: "Whitney needs to leave. She is rude. #MAFSUK." @hannahjcruse shared: "Experts should be able to remove participants like Whitney. She clearly doesn't want to be in the experiment. (But fully aware producers want her because she makes good TV) #MAFSUK."

@gepowell_ wrote: "Whitney needs to go home, Duka deserves someone who actually cares #mafsuk." @chachabinks1980 added: "Does #Whitney realise that she signed up to #MAFSUK and that she is free to leave at anytime.... the attitude, the eye rolling, the conversation. Shes not a hostage, she's a wife."

But now, Whitney has broken her silence over the fan backlash to the scenes, taking to her Instagram stories she sarcastically asked fans whether they thought she would "roll her eyes" in the episode, as she slammed them for thinking it was "rude".

"Tonight, will I articulate my feelings and actually say what I'm thinking with my voice, like an adult - or will I roll my eyes and say something dry?" Whitney said in the video. "Something dry that you guys just won't find funny and will just say is inappropriate. Which one, you decide."

She then offered her followers a choice between "eye rolling" and "articulate" in a mock Instagram poll. She followed up by reposting a meme from MAFS UK which read: "When someone says they don't like me." The clip showed Whitney savagely hitting out during an episode this week: "I don't know, get a therapist, work on that."
