Haryana transport department would soon launch e-ticketing system in state roadways buses, transport minister, Krishan Lal Panwar, said on Tuesday.
He said, under this system, conductors would be provided with machines with codes corresponding to various locations on the route. The conductor would enter the code corresponding to the stop indicated by the passenger and ticket would be printed after automatic calculation of the fare. He said this process would be monitored at the depot and headquarters levels.
Panwar said, “This system would not only make the ticketing process transparent but would also help the department in framing schemes related to route planning. It would also ensure that the officers of the department are provided with accurate information pertaining to the number of passengers travelling in a particular bus at a given time.”
