E-scooter rider suffers head injury after crash at Temple Gate

An e-scooter rider has been rushed to hospital with a head injury after a crash with a car this evening (October 26) in Bristol city centre. Emergency services were called to the scene at Temple Gate at around 8.20pm.

Passers-by told BristolLive that they could see paramedics "doing CPR" at the scene and described the incident as looking "nasty". Police have confirmed that the rider of the e-scooter has been taken to hospital.

Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: “Emergency services responded to a collision between a car and an e-scooter on Temple Gate this evening. The incident happened at around 8.20pm.

“The rider of the e-scooter, a woman, has been taken to hospital with a head injury.”

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the crash took place on the junction with the A4044 Redcliffe Way. The route remains blocked in both directions tonight following the collision.
