E-scooter rider 'stamped on' before men stole his vehicle

A man was stamped after being approached by men in Sneinton who stole his e-scooter.

Two men in a car slowed beside the victim who was with his e-scooter and asked if he was selling it, which he declined.

Nottinghamshire police said five minutes later the man turned left onto Elford Rise in Sneinton when he was dragged to the floor by his backpack by a man who he recognised as the passenger in the car.

He was then stamped on and had his vehicle stolen.

Detective Sergeant Jon Kerry of Nottinghamshire police is leading the investigation. He said: "This was a horrific incident which saw the victim being pulled backwards, causing him to fall to the floor. He was then stamped on and had his scooter stolen.

"Thankfully the victim only suffered minor injuries.

"We are appealing to anyone who saw the incident at around 8pm on Monday (18 January 2021) to help us with our enquiries.

"If you can help, please call 101, quoting incident 678 of 18 January 2021."
