Are you over it yet? We’re all still coming to grips with the shocking and unexpected loss by Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The No. 2 seed Buckeyes looked flat against No. 15 seed Oral Roberts and were sent packing well before anyone thought (well, except for ESPN’s Joe Lunardi).
Now that the season is over, we’ll no doubt start to get some media appearances and reflections from the coaches and players, and one of the first was from forward E.J. Liddell. The 6-foot, 7-inch sophomore made a huge jump in development his year, earning First-team Big Ten and USA TODAY All-American honors.
Some players would cash their chips in and sail on off to the NBA with that type of season, but Liddell doesn’t seem to be that type of player. Still, he was asked whether or not he would go through the NBA draft process, and he seemed to be on the fence.

It must be noted that players can go through the paces and get feedback from the NBA and still withdraw their name and return to good ‘ole State U. It would seem to be in Liddell’s best interests to do so, much the same way that Kaleb Wesson did at the end of his sophomore year.
We’ll keep an eye on this, but we’d expect Ohio State’s best player to go through the process, consider the feedback, then come back to wear the scarlet and gray. Of course, anything can happen, but it would be a shock if Liddell cast his net in the NBA waters and decided to forgo his last two years of eligibility.
