Dynamo says he's 'definitely through the worst' after coronavirus diagnosis

Dynamo has reassured fans that he is doing well after suffering from coronavirus.

The street magician, who also suffers from Crohn’s Disease, said he struggled after showing symptoms of Covid-19.

However, the 37-year-old, real name Steven Frayne, said he’s now “feeling pretty good” after beating the deadly disease – putting his positivity down to the release of Dynamo: Beyond Belief, his first series in five years.

“Obviously, having Covid-19 and going through all that exacerbated my existing condition, and made things a little bit worse,” Dynamo explained on Sky’s Kay Burley programme.

“But I’m definitely through the worst of it, coming out the other side. It’s been tough at times but this weekend the show came out and the response and the energy from the fans has given me the boost I think I needed. I’m doing pretty good right now.”

Dynamo’s Crohn’s Disease diagnosis caused the common complication of arthritis for the star and almost saw him quit magic altogether.

Recovering: Dynamo believes he's

After heading to hospital following a bout of food poisoning in 2018, Dynamo revealed that his doctors warned him he may never perform again.

He told Insider earlier this year: “I was told by doctors I might not perform magic again.

"I had arthritis. I couldn’t shuffle cards… I was in a real bad way.

"After getting over the fact my world was over, I used my mind to come up with new ways to perform the magic [thinking] I wouldn’t be able to do it anymore.”

He added today: “The thing with Crohn’s is that it is an invisible illness. You might look great on the outside, but not so good on the inside.”

Coronavirus has ravaged the world, with the UK currently on lockdown. The UK currently has over 88,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with 11,329 people having died from the disease.
