Dylon warn over 'harmful' Smurf prank after You Tube star's video goes viral

Parents are being warned over a 'harmful' Smurf prank after a YouTube star filmed himself tricking his girlfriend in to dyeing her skin blue.

Kristen Hanby filmed himself surprising his girlfriend Jasmine Brownsford after running her a bubble bath.

However he tells viewers that what she doesn't know is that he has poured a full tub of blue Dylon into the water - which was already blue from his choice of a bubble bath.

After Jasmine gets out the bath her entire body has been dyed blue up to her neck.

Labelling her "The world's angriest Smurf", Hanby can be heard laughing hysterically as his girlfriend looks totally unimpressed.

The video has been viewed more than four million times on Hanby's Instagram account and more than 600,000 times on his YouTube channel, where some of his followers are children.

The video has been shared on various other social media and news outlets, prompting Dylon to speak out against imitating the prank.

Rachel Ferreira, Brand Manager for Dylon Dyes, said: "We would highly encourage people to avoid imitating this act.

"When using our range of DYLON fabric dyes, it’s important to follow the instructions shown on pack which outlines what the product can be used for.

"Dyes is intended to be used on fabrics only and should not be used on skin as this could be harmful or even trigger an allergic reaction.”
