Dylan Tait in Hibs recall as Shaun Maloney vision takes shape with two new signings eyed

Dylan Tait is to be offered a chance in the Hibs first-team after he was recalled by Shaun Maloney.

The 20-year-old penned a permanent deal at Easter Road in the summer from Raith, but spent the first six-months of the season in Kirkcaldy.

After impressing in the Championship, Maloney is keen to give Tait a chance in Leith after taking over from Jack Ross.

The new boss lauded the potential impact on the squad of the midfielder, telling the Hibs club website: "I’ve spoken with the Raith manager who spoke very highly about Dylan.

"He’s a young player with potential and I’m looking forward to working with him."

It comes as Maloney looks to revamp the Easter Road squad to fit his vision for the club.

Former Ross County loanee Harry Clarke is set to become the first arrival under Maloney.

The 20-year-old Clarke, who has been a standout under Malky Mackay in Dingwall and has been recalled by Arsenal ahead of a Premiership return.

Bodo/Glimt striker Elias Melkersen also appears to be nearing a move to the capital.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at second tier Ranheim, netting 23 goals.

Norwegian outlet TV2 report Melkersen is "on his way" to Hibs in a deal worth between £250,000 to £400k.

Orlando City forward Chris Mueller has also arrived at the club having previously penned a pre-contract agreement.
