Dylan McGeouch set for Aberdeen transfer talks as Sunderland give Dons the green light

Aberdeen have been given permission to open talks with Dylan McGeouch.

Sources in the North-East of England have confirmed Sunderland have given the green light for the Scotland cap to travel north.

A deal has been agreed between the two clubs and if McGeouch can thrash out terms then it will see him move to Pittodrie on a permanent basis.

Aberdeen will be hoping to strike a deal that will see McGeouch fly out to Dubai with them for their winter training camp.

The 26-year-old, who has also been linked with Hibs and former Sunderland boss Jack Ross, has been a long-term target for Derek McInnes .

He tried to sign him when he left Hibs for Sunderland and has kept the door open through several transfer windows since.

McGeouch will strengthen McInnes’s midfield options with Craig Bryson likely to be out for another two months.

McInnes will be looking to strengthen further in this window.
