Dylan McGeouch makes Aberdeen debut as Dons lose to Al-Wehdat in Dubai friendly

New arrival Dylan McGeouch made his Aberdeen debut as the Dons slipped to a 1-0 friendly defeat to Al-Wehdat in Dubai.

The ex- Sunderland man played the opening 45 minutes in the Emirates before being replaced by Dean Campbell at the break.

The Jordanian side emerged victorious thanks to Ahmad Samer's strike in the 35th minute.

Derek McInnes used the fixture as a chance to hand 17-year-old former Queen's Park star Michael Ruth his Dons debut.

But he will be most pleased to get McGeouch up and running with the 26-year-old earning his first minutes since a clash with Gillingham in the FA Cup back on November 19.

James Wilson and Curtis Main were both introduced during the closing stages but neither forward could find an equaliser.

Aberdeen return to action next weekend when they host Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup fourth round at Pittodrie on Saturday.

McInnes' men return to league duty when they host Motherwell on home turf on January 22.
