A terminally-ill man who hadn't seen his wife for months had his dying wish granted when paramedics took him to her nursing home for one last visit.
Danny Rowland, from Queensland, Australia, was taken to hospital to have some adjustments to his medical equipment when the paramedics overheard him talking about his wife, Shirley.
Danny, who had been battling cancer for a long time, had planned to spend his final days at home with his family, news.au reports.
According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, Danny had accepted a phone call with Shirley a few months ago would be his last contact with the love of his life.

The service said in a statement: “Facing the end of his battle with cancer, a courageous Danny took solace in the fact he was leaving on his terms; in his own Torbanlea home and surrounded by family
“There was one piece missing however, with his wife Shirley receiving care in a nearby nursing home.”
But when ambulance workers Allan, Samantha and Joshua heard Danny talking fondly about his wife, they decided to help reunite the pair for one last goodbye.
The QAS said: "Realising Shirley was close to their route home, the officers sought permission for a brief detour."
When they reached the nursing home, Danny was led into a room to see Shirley. The pair, both in their hospital beds, spent precious time together holding hands.
Just days later, Danny took his final breath, “comforted by the memory of holding his wife’s hand and a promise his love would last forever.”
Since the QAS posted about the paramedics' wonderful gesture on Facebook, people have praised the three workers and offered their condolences.
One person wrote: "This is just such a beautiful gesture by these superheroes. Thank you for being so human to this elderly gentleman and his wife."
