Dying dad sobs as he visits treasured beach for the last time

A dying dad had his final wish granted by thoughtful medics, who went out of their way to help.

Brave Chris Shaw, 45, was taken to his favourite beach one last time after being told his cancer was terminal.

The dad-of-four, from Perth in Australia, asked to be taken to Burns Beach, where he had treasured memories.

He was pictured sobbing as he looked over the sand for the final time.

On the first anniversary of his death, his wife Kylie thanked ambulance officers for their kind gesture.

She told Channel 7 News in Australia that the staff "were our angels for the day".

Kylie added: “Seeing the ocean, feeling the sun, the breeze, nothing would be able to replace that ever.”

Chris fought a 14 month battle against aggressive stomach cancer, undergoing surgery in October 2017.

But tragically the illness returned last year, and he was given just days to live.

He died on August 31 last year.

Posting on Facebook , Kylie praised paramedics Jesse Roulston and Jade McGlew for arranging the trip to the beach on August 15, two weeks before he died.

She wrote: “I’m hoping in some small way… Jade and Jesse now know how much that meant to Chris to feel the sun and breeze on his body, hear the ocean’s crash and just feel normal at his favourite beach for 20 minutes.

“RIP Shawry – we love and miss you every day!”
