Jimmy Butler said he took over the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's victory over the Cavaliers because Dwyane Wade told him to win the game and he couldn't let Wade down.
Wade, who knows a little something about such things, said that's the sign of greatness.
"Last five minutes is when the greats separate themselves," Wade said. "LeBron (James) has a different way; he might get five assists and take over. Right now, Jimmy is buckets."
Wade also said he deserves little credit for helping Butler's ascension to even another level this season, that Butler not only has the ability but the drive to get better.
"He has taken that next step where not only is he scoring, averaging 25 points per game, when you need a basket in the fourth, we are putting the ball in his hand and he's delivering. That's a coach's dream," Wade said. "As teammates, that's comforting because you know the guy is going to make the right play.
"When I got here, I told him, 'You're an All-Star already; what's next for you? Are you satisfied being just an All-Star? Or do you want to go to what that next level is?' And that next level is something special. It's great to see him grow."
