Dwyane Wade says his lone All-NBA vote should have gone to Klay Thompson

The All-NBA teams were released this week, and Klay Thompson was among the most notable players to not be named to any team in 2019. According to Dwyane Wade, the media member who cast a vote for the retiring Heat legend should have saved the vote for someone more deserving. Gabrielle Union joked that she voted for Thompson in a video Wade shared on Instagram.

A total of 100 media members from outlets around the world decide the All-NBA teams, and the selections can have massive contract implications. By missing out on an All-NBA selection, Thompson will not be able to sign a supermax contract with the Warriors – though his All-NBA case is very debatable.

Wade received one vote to make the All-NBA second team. Other guards that received votes were Bradley Beal, Thompson, Ben Simmons, Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, DeMar DeRozan, D’Angelo Russell, Devin Booker, Eric Gordon, Jrue Holiday, Kyle Lowry and Lou Williams.

The full voting results will be revealed on June 24th, the day of the 2019 NBA Awards ceremony.
