On the anniversary of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant’s passing, New Orleans Pelicans guard and NBA veteran J.J. Redick released a supercut of incredible Kobe Bryant stories he’s gathered on his Old Man and the Three podcast.
Dwyane Wade, Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Jayson Tatum, Sue Bird and D’Angelo Russell opened up to Redick about their favorite interactions with Bryant over the years, and the stories they have are legendary.
Wade recaps a story from the United States Olympic team, when a group of the NBA’s best players worked out late at night after arriving in a city. With a plan to reconvene for breakfast the next morning, Wade, LeBron and Carmelo Anthony came down from their rooms to find Bryant already icing his knees from a morning workout, with a plan to workout again soon afterward.
“That’s when I was like, ‘OK, I need to get by stuff together,'” Wade said.
