The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced additional locations of new temporary jobcentres across the UK, including a new one in Glasgow city centre.
The DWP is setting up temporary jobcentres during 2021 to deal with increased demand for benefits services, including Universal Credit applications, as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Department said the new jobcentres will provide services where they are needed and will increase capacity to provide tailored face-to-face support in a Covid-secure environment to help support more people back into work.
The new Glasgow jobcetnre is located on the first floor of the former newspaper offices of The Herald and Times at 200 Renfield Street and will be an appointment-only facility staffed by Work Coaches and security.
In 2018, the DWP closed six job centres in Glasgow:

The DWP said it will "review the need for these temporary jobcentres as the economy recovers and social distancing rules are eased".
